Sawee Sikdang will open a new location in Kyoto’s Kiyamachi district on November 7, 2026, serving its signature Korean nakgopsae hot pot.
The restaurant is located near the Takase River in one of Kyoto’s busiest dining areas. It will welcome guests from 11:00 a.m., staying open until 1:00 a.m. on most days and until 5:00 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and days before holidays.
Nakgopsae combines octopus, beef intestines and shrimp in a spicy sauce. The Kyoto Kiyamachi location will serve the dish in-store, with reservations handled through Tabelog and telephone reservations scheduled to begin on November 2.

Nakgopsae is a specialty from Busan, and its name comes from the first syllables of nakji, gopchang and saewoo. Sawee Sikdang’s sauce is made with 17 ingredients and aged at low temperature for 72 hours before use. The restaurants in Japan use sauce shipped directly from Korea to preserve the brand’s original flavor.
