Minimal Launches Limited-Edition Tanzania Craft Cola Chocolate Bar in Tokyo August 1

Minimal, a specialty bean-to-bar chocolate brand in Tokyo, is releasing a limited-edition chocolate bar called “SEASONAL Tanzania Craft Cola” starting August 1, 2026. This unique chocolate captures the refreshing flavor of craft cola with a blend of spices and fruity Tanzanian cacao.

The chocolate bar is designed to evoke the bright and zesty taste of cola through a careful balance of syrup sweetness, four aromatic spices, and citrus notes from the Tanzanian cacao. Available at Minimal’s flagship store in Tomigaya, Azabudai Hills, Sengawa, and online, the bar is priced at ¥1,790 (tax included) and offered in limited quantities.

Their latest release, the “SEASONAL Tanzania Craft Cola” chocolate bar, is inspired by the refreshing sensation of craft cola, reimagined as a slow-unfolding chocolate experience. The bar combines four spices—cardamom, cinnamon, clove, and ginger—with fruity Tanzanian cacao to create a complex and invigorating flavor profile perfect for summer.

Minimal selected Tanzanian cacao for its mild bitterness and fruitiness after testing various origins like Madagascar and Peru. The cacao content is adjusted to 60% to balance bitterness and sweetness, with beet sugar adding gentle sweetness. The chocolate is made with a medium-coarse grind to enhance texture and aroma, especially when chilled.
