Fujipan is launching a new, larger version of its popular Neo Butter Roll called “Neo Dekakun” across Japan, excluding Hokkaido and Okinawa, starting August 1, 2026. This special edition celebrates the 29th anniversary of the original Neo Butter Roll, which was Japan’s first margarine-filled roll bread when it debuted in 1997.
The Neo Dekakun features twice the amount of margarine inside compared to the standard Neo Butter Roll, making it a satisfying treat for margarine lovers. This product is part of the brand’s celebration of “Neo Butter Roll Day” on August 1, a date officially registered as a commemorative day since 2020.
About the Neo Dekakun

The Neo Dekakun is a larger roll with a generous amount of dough and double the margarine filling, created in response to customer feedback wanting more of the delicious margarine. The packaging showcases a new character, Neo Dekakun, a playful evolution of the Neo Butter Roll mascot, Neo Batakun, adding a fun twist to the product. Two different package designs are available, each featuring a different expression of Neo Dekakun.
