PHILOCOFFEA has opened its fifth store in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, transforming its original roasting site into a new coffee shop that offers a special coffee experience. The grand opening is scheduled for July 31, 2026, following a pre-opening on July 28.
The menu features specialty-grade coffees roasted in-house and crafted by world champion barista Tetsu Kasuya. Located in central Funabashi, this shop is a convenient stop for coffee lovers exploring the area.
About PHILOCOFFEA Old Roasting Site
PHILOCOFFEA, led by Tetsu Kasuya—the first Asian to win the World Brewers Cup in 2016—has renovated its original roasting facility into a welcoming café space. Since 2018, this location has been the birthplace of their coffee production. The new shop maintains the warm, relaxed atmosphere where customers can casually enjoy specialty coffee.
The café serves carefully selected specialty-grade beans sourced worldwide, roasted to bring out their full potential, and brewed using Kasuya’s award-winning methods. The staff includes skilled roasters and baristas who offer expert advice and hospitality.
Alongside coffee, the café offers gluten-free baked goods made in a new central kitchen, designed to pair perfectly with their drinks.
