About Drop Coffee Roasters
Founded in 2009 near Mariatorget in Stockholm, Drop Coffee Roasters has grown from a small coffee bar into a globally recognized specialty roaster. The brand focuses on creating spaces where people connect over coffee, inspired by the Scandinavian “Fika” tradition—a meaningful coffee break shared with friends and family.

Drop Coffee maintains strong direct trade relationships with coffee producers in countries like Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, and Kenya, ensuring transparency, fair pricing, and high-quality beans. Their roasting is done in small batches to highlight the unique flavors of each origin.
Joanna Alm Leighton, co-owner and a world-renowned roaster, leads the brand’s quality and philosophy. She has won multiple international roasting championships and authored a book on better coffee. Her expertise shapes the roasting and education at Drop Coffee, now brought to Tokyo.
The Nakano location offers a welcoming atmosphere with 51 seats, serving freshly brewed coffee alongside a selection of Nordic-inspired cakes and pastries developed exclusively for the Japanese market.
