About Chiikawa Bakery’s Movie Collaboration
To mark the nationwide release of the “Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island” movie on July 24, 2026, Chiikawa Bakery and Chiikawa Bakery OSAKA are launching a special range of breads modeled after beloved characters from the film. These include face-shaped breads wearing flower crowns filled with custard, chocolate, or caramel cream, as well as savory options like yakisoba-filled buns and sausage breads.
From September 18, 2026, new items will be introduced such as a spicy curry bread inspired by the Siren character and a gentle-flavored pull-apart bread shaped like friendly mermaids. Popular matcha butter spread is also available for purchase.
To enhance the movie experience, customers ordering any takeout drink will receive one of three original movie coasters at random. Additionally, the bakery continues to offer its usual set of 12 coaster designs with drink orders.
