For the first time in Japan, THE CITY BAKERY is launching a special ‘Spiced Mediterranean Cuisine’ fair across 10 of its restaurants nationwide starting July 16, 2026.
This summer-themed menu features three distinct styles—French, American, and Italian—each offering unique dishes that highlight vibrant Mediterranean flavors combined with aromatic spices, perfect for dinner service through mid-September.
About THE CITY BAKERY Spiced Mediterranean Cuisine Fair

The New York-born bakery, THE CITY BAKERY, is presenting its inaugural joint fair themed around summer Mediterranean and spice-inspired dishes. The 10 participating restaurants are divided into three culinary styles: French, American, and Italian, each bringing their own twist to the seasonal menu. This collaboration combines fresh, local ingredients with the bakery’s signature breads and wines to create a delightful summer dining experience.

- French-style dishes at BRASSERIE & BISTRO RUBIN include Provencal squid stuffed with couscous (¥2,090), chilled grilled eggplant with green Sichuan pepper tzatziki sauce (¥935), and tender octopus grilled with bamboo charcoal and spicy nduja oil (¥2,200).




- American-style offerings at NEW YORK GRILL & BAR & GRILL feature soft shell shrimp grilled with chipotle salsa and aioli (¥1,045), pork spare ribs with coarse spice rub served with zucchini and lime salsa (¥2,145), and anchovy olive garlic bread with coriander and orange aroma (¥748).


- Italian dishes at TRATTORIA RUBIN include fried conger eel Beccafico style with caraway orange sauce (¥1,375), meatball tomato spaghetti with ricotta and spicy dukkah (¥1,650; pasta large portion +¥110), and spicy salsiccia with summer vegetables and fennel seed on a ricotta cream base available in small (¥1,848) and large (¥2,288) sizes.
- Each restaurant pairs these dishes with freshly baked breads made daily by expert bakers who adjust recipes to local climates, ensuring the perfect complement to the Mediterranean flavors.
