Renowned Italian chef Mamoru Kataoka, known for his culinary excellence at “Ristorante Al Porto” in Tokyo’s Nishi-Azabu, is bringing a special “Pasta Kaiseki” fair to Hotel New Otani Makuhari in Chiba. This exclusive event will be held for three days only, from June 26 to June 28, 2026, offering a unique dining experience.
About the Event
Visitors to Japan can indulge in this rare opportunity to savor Chef Kataoka’s signature pasta dishes, crafted with the freshest early summer ingredients. The event promises a delightful fusion of Italian and Japanese culinary styles, set in the elegant ambiance of Hotel New Otani Makuhari’s all-day dining restaurant, SATSUKI.

The “Pasta Kaiseki” fair is a celebration of Chef Mamoru Kataoka’s innovative approach to Italian cuisine. Having established “Ristorante Al Porto” in 1983, Chef Kataoka has been a pioneer in introducing authentic Italian flavors to Japan. The event will feature a diverse range of pasta courses, including chilled capellini with fruit tomato kecca sauce, a dish perfect for the season. Guests can also look forward to the “Special Dinner Course,” which includes a selection of Chef Kataoka’s favorite dishes, such as a cold corn soup, linguine piccolo with lobster sauce, and a main course of veal fillet and foie gras sautéed with Marsala sauce, priced at ¥13,200 (tax included).
