Top-ranked organic wine brand Tavernello Organico will debut in paper packs at FamilyMart stores across Japan on October 6, 2026. The new Famimaru lineup includes Italian red and white wines in two convenient sizes.
The launch will cover approximately 15,700 FamilyMart stores that sell alcoholic beverages nationwide. The paper packs are lightweight, easier to handle than glass bottles, and fitted with caps for pouring only what you need and storing the rest.
Primitivo 250 and Terre Siciliane 250 will each cost ¥362 before tax, or ¥398 (tax included). The 1,000ml versions will each cost ¥1,272 before tax, or ¥1,399 (tax included). Store availability may vary.
About Tavernello Organico
Produced by Italian winemaker Caviro, Tavernello is a widely enjoyed everyday wine brand known for accessible pricing and consistent quality. The Organico series uses grapes grown with organic farming methods and carries organic certification in Japan. This is the first paper-pack wine released under FamilyMart’s Famimaru private brand.

The two wines are designed for different food pairings. The rich, creamy Primitivo has notes associated with black cherry, truffle, espresso, spice, and white pepper, making it a natural match for steak, demi-glace hamburgers, yakiniku, Bolognese, lasagna, and aged hard cheese.
Terre Siciliane offers aromas of white flowers, white peach, and tropical fruit, with gentle acidity and a slightly bitter finish. FamilyMart recommends it with white-fish carpaccio, shrimp and avocado salad, shirasu and shiso peperoncino, salmon baked with lemon and herbs, or potato salad.
The new packaging is intended to suit casual meals and smaller households while reducing the weight and breakage concerns associated with glass. According to the release, the plant-based polyethylene container is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 72% for the 250ml size and 17% for the 1,000ml size compared with conventional packaging.
