For the first time in Japan, San-X is launching the new “Rilakkuma and Awawa Neko” themed merchandise featuring original artwork by Production I.G in Tokyo. The collection will be available for early purchase at Matsuya Ginza from August 27 to September 2, 2026.
This limited-time event takes place on the 8th floor event square of Matsuya Ginza in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Fans should note the event hours and plan accordingly, as the sale period is short and items often sell quickly.
About the Rilakkuma and Awawa Neko Theme

San-X, known for its original characters like Rilakkuma, is introducing a fresh collaboration with anime studio Production I.G, which produces the ongoing Rilakkuma anime series airing on TBS. This new theme features two new characters: Awawa Neko, a bubbly travel and gourmet video creator cat, and Yobii, a warm-seeking, slightly frail seal. The merchandise captures the charm of these characters alongside Rilakkuma and friends enjoying adventures and travel, bringing a heartwarming and joyful vibe to fans.
