Kamakura Beniya, a renowned confectionery maker in Kanagawa, is introducing a new limited-edition sweet called “Mikan Kurumikko.” Starting July 20, 2026, this delightful treat will be available at select direct stores, department store online shops, and Kamakura Beniya’s official online store.
This special confection combines the classic Kurumikko walnut caramel with the fresh, tangy flavor of mikan (Japanese mandarin orange). The walnut and homemade caramel are sandwiched between a soft dough infused with mikan jam, creating a perfect balance of bitterness, sweetness, and citrus freshness. The lingering aroma of mikan adds a refreshing finish to every bite.
About Mikan Kurumikko
Mikan Kurumikko is Kamakura Beniya’s first original flavor developed entirely in-house, following previous collaborations with other brands. The packaging reflects the summer theme with bright orange stripes and delicate mikan illustrations. A cute squirrel character peeks out from the sleeve and appears in different poses on the packaging and individual wrappers.
