Imuraya Launches New Hojicha Warabi Mochi Soft Mochi Ice Cream in Japan August 31

Imuraya Group has introduced a new soft mochi ice cream called “Yawamochi Ice Hojicha Warabi,” launching in Japan on August 31, 2026.

This seasonal dessert features the rich aroma of carefully selected Uji roasted green tea (hojicha) and a unique soft texture with brown sugar warabi mochi. Pricing aligns with typical Japanese cafe sweets, with the product priced at ¥194 (tax included).

The ice cream will be available at convenience stores starting August 31 and at general retailers from September 14, 2026, including nationwide supermarkets and Imuraya’s online shop.

About the Yawamochi Ice Hojicha Warabi

The new seasonal soft mochi ice cream highlights three distinct layers: a hojicha-flavored ice cream made with Uji roasted tea leaves and Hokkaido cream, a smooth hojicha bean paste, and the series’ first use of brown sugar warabi mochi, which offers a soft, jelly-like texture. This combination delivers an authentic Japanese dessert experience with a mellow sweetness and roasted tea aroma.
