National Azabu in Minato, Tokyo is hosting Romanian Days from July 18 to 20, offering visitors a chance to experience Romanian food culture with free tastings and special events.
The event features Romanian wines, traditional sweets, and plum paste, with prices for products and tastings following typical cafe and specialty food shop standards in Japan.
About Romanian Days at National Azabu

Supported by the Romanian Embassy, National Azabu’s main store will celebrate Romanian food and culture over three days. Visitors can enjoy a variety of authentic Romanian delicacies and beverages, including a wine tasting of three different Romanian wines, and limited sales of handmade traditional sweets by Chef Gabriela from Gabi’s Cucina & Cafe in Maebashi, Gunma.

- Special event with Chef Gabriela offering traditional handmade sweets such as “Walnut Pastry,” “Cozonac” (a Romanian sweet bread), and crescent-shaped cakes called “Semiluna.” These sweets are also served to dignitaries at the Romanian Embassy.
- Free tastings and sales of “Plum Majun,” a traditional natural plum paste made without sugar or additives, perfect for bread, yogurt, or as a cooking accent.
