About the Fukuoka Castle Ruins Light Festival

Rather than presenting fixed projections, the works respond to wind, rain, humidity, wildlife, and human movement. Some installations change when visitors approach or touch them, while others depend on natural conditions, making each nighttime walk through the ruins different.

Highlights
- Pillars of Constant Flux changes its form as air continuously moves through the installation.
- Autonomous Resonating Life and Resonating Trees connect light and sound across the surrounding area when people, animals, wind, or rain affect the works.
- Walk, Walk, Walk – Fukuoka Castle Ruins presents continuously changing figures walking across the stone walls in real time.
- Sketch Kuroda Kanbei lets visitors draw historical figures connected with Kuroda Kanbei and see them come to life.
- Sketch Factory turns drawings made at the exhibition into take-home badges.
- Preschool children enter free, while on-site ticket purchases add ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for middle and high school students and children.
