On Christmas 2023, a fire in Akabane Ichibangai completely destroyed “New Akabane Nikumareya.” However, it was reborn as “Izakaya Moeta Urameshiya Akabane” and reopened on April 23, 2024, on the back street of Akabane Ichibangai. Overcoming the hardships caused by the fire, the izakaya has made a fresh start with strong support from the local residents and many fans.
Urameshiya Menu Overview
The owner mentioned, “The name ‘Urameshiya’ reflects our feelings of resentment, marking a new beginning.” This new establishment is positioned as “a more refined public bar,” transforming from the previous casual street food style into a more sophisticated space and menu.
The previous establishment, Nikumareya, burned down and has now reopened with a stylish new look.
The signature “Motsuni” is priced at 390 yen and is all-you-can-eat, which is quite pleasing.
The restaurant particularly excels in creative dishes. Among them, “Gyutan Tessa” and “Seafood Sashimi Five-Piece Assortment” are especially recommended.
