Kagonoya has launched a new matsutake menu across Japan, available from October 14, 2026. The seasonal fair marks the return of matsutake dishes to the Japanese washoku restaurant chain after about 10 years.
The fair will run at all 76 Kagonoya locations until early November, although individual stores may end sales sooner if their supplies sell out. Store opening hours vary, with service starting from 11:00.
The lineup includes Matsutake and Black Wagyu Sukiyaki Hot Pot Set at ¥3,900, or ¥4,290 tax included, plus Grilled Matsutake at ¥2,400, Matsutake Dobin-mushi at ¥1,200, and Matsutake Tempura at ¥2,400. The latter three are ¥2,640, ¥1,320, and ¥2,640 tax included, respectively.
About the Kagonoya Matsutake Fair
Matsutake, Black Wagyu, and House Warishita
Kagonoya’s signature seasonal set combines matsutake and black wagyu with its house warishita sauce. The set costs ¥3,900, or ¥4,290 tax included.

Grilled Matsutake at the Table
Guests grill the matsutake themselves at their table, then enjoy it with sudachi and sea salt. Grilled Matsutake costs ¥2,400, or ¥2,640 tax included.

Matsutake Dobin-mushi
This traditional lidded-pot dish highlights a fragrant broth infused with matsutake. Matsutake Dobin-mushi costs ¥1,200, or ¥1,320 tax included.

Matsutake Tempura
The crispy coating helps retain the mushroom’s aroma, texture, and savory juices. Matsutake Tempura costs ¥2,400, or ¥2,640 tax included.

Kagonoya’s main sukiyaki dish combines matsutake and black wagyu with the chain’s house warishita sauce. Made with rich brewed dark soy sauce, hon mirin, and two types of sugar, the sauce is designed to complement the balance of lean meat and fat in the beef while bringing out the mushroom’s aroma.
