About the Kyotamba Chestnut Fair

Seasonal Hiramatsu Kyotamba Chestnut Fair Spans Tokyo and Kyoto, November 1–30 November 1

The 2026 fair focuses on Kyotamba chestnuts, an autumn ingredient associated with the mountain-ringed town of Kyotamba in Kyoto Prefecture. The area’s temperature differences between day and night, morning fog, and clean water support a range of distinctive agricultural products, including black soybeans and large shimeji mushrooms.

Each Tokyo restaurant interprets the chestnut in its own style. The desserts combine the nut with seasonal ingredients such as apple, sweet potato, yuzu, fig, pear, maple, white truffle, and Kaga roasted green tea. This gives diners a chance to compare different pastry and dessert approaches during the same month.
