About the Sakura-jima Black Hot Pot
This original hot pot represents Kagoshima’s iconic Sakurajima volcano and surrounding Kinko Bay. The center features black beef and pork arranged to depict the volcano, surrounded by fresh vegetables and a special pork bone broth representing the bay. Charred Kagoshima black chicken pieces in the broth symbolize volcanic lava. The dish is complemented by eight kinds of condiments, including homemade soy sauce koji, local yuzu pepper, fragrant bonito flakes, and Kagoshima matcha powder, allowing guests to enjoy diverse flavors. The meal ends with noodles or rice porridge cooked in the flavorful broth.
