Gotemba Premium Outlets is holding its annual summer festival, “Gotemba Night!! 2026,” for the first time during the Obon holiday from August 11 to 16. This six-day event offers visitors a chance to enjoy fireworks, traditional festival games, food stalls, workshops, and a collaboration with the popular animated series “PAW Patrol.”
Located in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture, the outlet features over 290 shops across three zones and provides a festive atmosphere with lantern decorations, wind chimes, sunflowers, and pinwheels. The event’s highlight is a nightly fireworks show after store hours, creating a memorable summer night experience for families and friends.
About Gotemba Night!! 2026 Summer Festival
Now in its fifth year, “Gotemba Night!!” is a signature summer event at Gotemba Premium Outlets. This year marks the first time it is held during the Obon period, a peak travel season in Japan. Each evening after the shops close at 8:00 pm, a fireworks display called “Yozora Kirameku Gotemba HANABI” lights up the sky for about five minutes, set to nostalgic summer tunes. The fireworks launch from the valley between Yumeno Ohashi and Kibou Ohashi bridges within the outlet grounds.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy classic festival games such as shooting galleries, ring toss, and candle scooping, as well as creative workshops including electronic crafts and fake ice cream making with clay. Food trucks rotate daily, offering treats like shaved ice, baby castella cakes, kebabs, tacos, and acai bowls, perfect for snacking while shopping or watching the fireworks.
The festival area is decorated with colorful lanterns near the Nike store in the East Zone, wind chimes along the bridges connecting the West Zone and Hill Side, and a summer garden-themed display featuring sunflowers and pinwheels near the Hill Side and Beams store. These decorations create photogenic spots for visitors to capture their summer memories.
Additionally, the event includes a collaboration with “PAW Patrol,” featuring themed photo spots, a stamp rally with original stickers, and a special kitchen car selling themed drinks and popcorn boxes. The collaboration runs through August 30, extending the summer fun beyond the festival dates.
