Kokaen has opened a new Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor of JIYUGAOKA MUSE SQUARE in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. The restaurant began service on September 17, 2026, with a menu focused on refined Chinese cooking.
The restaurant is designed for diners looking for authentic Chinese food in a convenient station-front setting. Its seven-course opening dinner does not require advance reservations, while the restaurant also offers casual lunch sets, individual dishes, and dinner plans for gatherings.
Signature dishes include Sichuan-style clay-pot mapo tofu for ¥1,200, a small-plate version for ¥830, and hearty five-ingredient ankake noodles for ¥1,480. Lunch options start at ¥1,380, while the seven-course Kakaen Course is available for ¥3,900 during the opening promotion.
About Kokaen
Sichuan-Style Clay-Pot Mapo Tofu
Kokaen’s signature mapo tofu uses house-made chili oil, house-made pepper oil, and Sichuan broad bean paste. The dish is ¥1,200 (tax included), or ¥830 (tax included) as a small plate.

Five-Ingredient Ankake Noodles
These ¥1,480 (tax included) noodles are topped with seven kinds of vegetables, shrimp, squid, pork, and quail egg in a house soy-based sauce. Fried noodles are also available on request.
Grilled Dumpling Snack Set
Available exclusively at this location for ¥1,480 (tax included), the set includes three grilled dumplings, two Chinese appetizers, and one selected drink.
Three-Dish Lunch Set
The Three-Dish Set starts at ¥1,880 (tax included) and lets diners choose two dishes from a selection of six, including mapo tofu and shrimp with vegetables stir-fried with salt.
Seven-Course Kakaen Course
The opening dinner is ¥3,900 (tax included), reduced from ¥4,300 (tax included). It includes appetizers, soup, xiaolongbao, Peking duck, seafood, a choice of main starch, dessert, and jasmine tea.
Kokaen is the only Chinese restaurant inside JIYUGAOKA MUSE SQUARE. All dishes were developed by Jiro Kimura, the executive chef of Four Seeds’ Chinese dining division, whose career includes award-winning work in Sichuan cuisine. The kitchen uses house-made chili oil and Sichuan broad bean paste in its mapo tofu, while the noodles are topped with a house soy-based sauce.
