This high tea highlights local flavors from Miyagi Prefecture, including the exclusive Miyagi whisky “Nikka Date,” making it a perfect stop if you are in the Aoba Ward area.
The set is priced at ¥8,000 (tax included) and includes six savory items, a main dish of Miyagi Wagyu beef stewed in red wine, and desserts like Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc with cassis sorbet. Guests also enjoy free-flow whisky, wine, cocktails, and more at the 26th-floor Lounge & Bar Horizon.
About DATE High Tea -Black＆Purple- at Westin Sendai
Since its launch in April, the DATE High Tea series has centered around the Miyagi-exclusive Nikka Date whisky, offering a sophisticated experience with a variety of alcoholic beverages. This autumn edition uses black and purple ingredients such as Wagyu beef, lobster, and Japanese chestnuts to create a mysterious Halloween atmosphere. The savory tier includes autumn vegetable sticks with black olive mayonnaise, purple sweet potato sablé, pear and prosciutto bruschetta, tuna and beet salad with ancient rice chips, a Wagyu and blue cheese black burger, and lobster poêlé with porcini risotto. The main dish features Miyagi Wagyu beef stewed in red wine, complemented by mashed pumpkin and blueberry sauce. Desserts include a Mont Blanc made with chestnuts from Nakayama Town, Ehime, and cassis sorbet with a meringue ghost decoration. Free-flow drinks include Nikka Date whisky served as highball, straight, or on the rocks, sparkling wine, red and white wine, beer, cocktails, original mocktails, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. The high tea is served for 90 minutes between 2:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. at the Lounge & Bar Horizon on the 26th floor, with last entry at 9:00 p.m. and free-flow ending 20 minutes before closing.
