For the first time in Japan, Hoshino Resorts is sharing a special website that looks back on its 10-year partnership with Asuka Village in Nara Prefecture. This commemorates their collaboration ahead of the anticipated opening of Hoshinoya Asuka in 2027.

The website highlights the deep ties built through staff exchanges and joint efforts to promote sustainable tourism in Asuka, a region rich in historical sites and natural beauty. The collaboration reflects typical hotel and resort development practices in Japan, focusing on cultural preservation and community engagement.

About Hoshino Resorts and Asuka Village Partnership

Asuka Village, located at the heart of the ancient “Asuka Palace Capital,” is known as the birthplace of Japan’s centralized government and is home to many historical sites like the Ishibutai Tumulus and Asuka-dera Temple. The entire village is designated as a Special Preservation District for Historic Landscapes, making it unique in Japan.

Hoshino Resorts, which operates 79 properties domestically and internationally, signed a partnership agreement with Asuka Village in 2016. Over the past decade, they have fostered mutual understanding through personnel exchanges and have worked closely to uncover and promote the village’s unique attractions.

With the expectation of Asuka’s registration as a World Heritage site in 2026 and the scheduled opening of the Hoshinoya Asuka resort in 2027, the new website showcases the history of this collaboration and the outlook for the region’s tourism future.
