Tomato & Onion Launches Summer 'Meat vs Eel' Stamina Menu in Japan Restaurant

Tomato & Onion, an American-style dining restaurant chain in Japan, is introducing a special summer stamina menu starting July 16, 2026.

This menu features hearty dishes like sirloin steak and sizzling eel served on a hot iron plate, perfect for diners seeking a satisfying meal without advance reservations.

The new summer menu highlights a bold showdown between two popular stamina foods: tender sirloin steak and flavorful eel. The sirloin steak, sourced from Australian beef, is served in a generous 180g portion and comes with three sauce options: onion sauce, black pepper soy pepper sauce, and lemon butter. This steak is ideal for those looking to treat themselves during the summer.

On the other hand, the eel dishes are served sizzling on an iron plate to enhance their aroma and warmth. The “Iron Plate Unatama Rice” combines eel, hamburger steak, and a fluffy Japanese-style rolled omelet. The eel rice can be enjoyed in a hitsumabushi style—first eating it as is, then adding condiments and broth for a second flavorful experience. For those wanting an even more indulgent meal, a premium version with double eel and extra rice is also available.

To finish the meal, Tomato & Onion offers their original chilled dessert, “Flasoftino,” a combination of shaved ice and soft serve. This summer, it features a special collaboration with Lotte’s Yukimi Daifuku and Suika Bar ice cream, offering fruity flavors like strawberry, mango, white peach, and a watermelon-inspired treat. There are also adult-flavored options such as cassis and tiramisu-style espresso.
