For the first time in Japan, &EARL GREY, a specialty Earl Grey tea shop, is introducing its highly popular Earl Grey soft cream and the trendy new butter mochi at the Ice Cream Festival held at Usui Department Store in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture.
The limited-time event runs from August 6 to August 16, 2026, offering visitors a chance to enjoy unique tea-flavored soft cream and a crispy yet chewy sweet treat without needing a long reservation.
About &EARL GREY and the Ice Cream Festival
&EARL GREY is known for its rich Earl Grey tea soft cream made with about 50 times the usual amount of tea leaves, creating a creamy “milk tea you can eat” sensation that draws crowds nationwide. This summer, they are debuting two new soft cream flavors: the refreshing Earl Grey Tea Yogurt, blending natural bergamot-scented Earl Grey with tangy yogurt, and a non-fat Frozen Yogurt infused with bergamot aroma and lactic acid bacteria for a healthy, smooth treat. Alongside these, their top-selling Earl Grey Rich Milk soft cream is also available.
In addition, the festival features the buzzworthy butter mochi, a new sweet originating from Shanghai and popularized in Korean cafes. Made with carefully selected domestic ingredients like Hokkaido butter and premium Saga Prefecture “Hiyoku Mochiko” rice flour, these shell-shaped mochi have a crispy exterior and chewy interior. Two flavors are offered: Plain and Earl Grey, both priced affordably.
