Lotte Holdings is bringing the authentic taste of Korean kimchi from Lotte Hotel to Daimaru Tokyo for a limited-time pop-up event. From July 1 to July 7, 2026, visitors can purchase the premium “Lotte Hotel Kimchi” at the basement first floor event space called “Shunsen Tanbou.”
This special kimchi is crafted based on over 40 years of tradition from Lotte Hotel’s renowned Korean restaurant Mugunghwa, using carefully selected Korean ingredients. The recipe features fresh Chinese cabbage from seasonal Korean farms and chili powder made from peppers cultivated on Lotte Hotel-managed farms. The depth of flavor comes from a rich broth made by simmering dried pollack, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, kelp, radish, and green onions. It also uses a high-quality salted fish called Yukjeot, which is five to six times more expensive than typical salted shrimp, and natural sweeteners like pear and tomato instead of artificial additives to enhance the natural sweetness and umami.
