Dorayama, a specialty dorayaki shop in Koto, Tokyo, is offering a limited-quantity chestnut dorayaki called “Kurikuri Waguri Dora” throughout August. This seasonal sweet features whole Japanese chestnuts wrapped in a fluffy dorayaki pancake.
The dorayaki is crafted daily by skilled artisans who bake each pancake by hand. Priced at ¥460 (tax included), this delicacy combines smooth white bean paste, domestic chestnut paste, and a whole chestnut with its skin, creating a rich chestnut flavor in every bite.
About Dorayama
Located near Monzen-nakacho Station, Dorayama opened its first store in June 2022 in a retro-style building. The shop blends traditional Japanese wagashi techniques with Western pastry methods to create soft, lightly sweet dorayaki pancakes. Each pancake is hand-baked on a copper plate every morning, ensuring freshness and a fluffy texture. The chestnut dorayaki is part of Dorayama’s monthly seasonal offerings called “Shundora,” which highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients.
