Revival! “Tokyo Chikara Meshi Shokudo” Reopens in Kudanshita After 2 Years

On May 7, 2024, “Tokyo Chikara Meshi Shokudo” reopened in the basement of the Kudan Second Joint Government Building (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), which houses the Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau and other offices. The popular grilled beef bowl, which once captivated many fans, has made its return to Tokyo. Until now, the only location in Japan was the “Osaka Nipponbashi Branch” (Naniwa-ku, Osaka), but now it has finally returned to Tokyo.

Tokyo Chikara Meshi Shokudo Now Open to the Public

SANKO MARKETING FOODS, the operating company, has been working on a project to provide dining services within central government offices, and was able to open in the Kudan Second Joint Government Building. The cafeteria is open from 11 AM to 2 PM, and is available to anyone visiting the building. It is also easily accessible to those working in nearby offices or attending nearby schools.

In addition to the long-popular staple “Original Grilled Beef Bowl,” you can also enjoy original daily set menus, noodle dishes such as soba and udon. They also plan to offer boxed lunches for meetings, coffee for conferences, and banquet course menus in the future.

Since the opening of the first store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in 2011, Tokyo Chikara Meshi expanded to 130 locations nationwide. However, due to market changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, they reduced the number of domestic stores to just one. They continued online sales with “Tokyo Chikara Meshi Support Curry” and opened three stores in Hong Kong in 2021 and one in Thailand in February 2023.
