Nagoya’s Historic Shachimonaka Confectionery Expands to Tokyo and Osaka July 1

Shachimonaka, a renowned confectionery brand with a 119-year history from Nagoya, has launched permanent sales locations in Tokyo and Osaka. The traditional sweets are now available at CHOOSEBASE SHIBUYA in Tokyo and Made in Tokai KITTE Osaka in Osaka.

This expansion offers fans outside Nagoya a chance to enjoy authentic Shachimonaka treats without needing to travel to the original store. The Tokyo location operates until the end of September 2026, while the Osaka shop offers ongoing sales.

Founded in 1907, Shachimonaka has been a beloved Nagoya souvenir for over a century. After facing potential closure in 2020 due to succession challenges and the pandemic, the business was passed to the fourth generation in 2021.
